The Lords Room
As the name suggests a grand and luxurious room once occupied in Jacobean times, by the Lord and Lady of the Manor of Allington. Decorated and dressed in a grand style, it is well suited to those in search of a little opulence.
The freestanding roll-top bath, 6-foot bateau bed, subtle lighting and open fire with its seventeenth century stone surround - all work to create the exclusive feel, which has been demanded by successive Lords of the Manor for the past 400 years.
This room enjoys views over the front garden and across a meadow to the village green. It also boasts an en suite toilet and shower, T.V, radio, wireless internet connection and coffee & tea making facilities. An ideal room for a special occasion.
The perfect choice for those seeking a restful retreat.
This beautifully proportioned room offers complete luxury with its calming pale green colour scheme, large four-poster bed, Georgian marble fireplace and high quality furnishings. It is set above the Main Hall and overlooks a magnificent Ash tree at the front of the house.
This room offers a freestanding roll-top bath, en suite shower and toilet, T.V, radio, wireless internet connection and coffee & tea making facilities.
A little tranquility and a lot of luxury. Situated at the back of the house with an outlook over the rear garden, vast open skies and distant low hills are visible through the leaded windows.
This room has a distinctly "cottage" feel with its parchment and blue colour scheme, complimented by a brass and iron bedstead, delicate pine furniture and an original brick arched fireplace housing a wood burning style stove which sheds a warm welcoming glow on winter evenings and cool summer nights.
The spacious en-suite bathroom has an antique 6ft. cast iron bath and shower in which to unwind. In common with the other rooms, the garden room has a T.V, radio, wireless internet connection and coffee & tea making facilities.
The Drawing Room has a luxurious and yet homely feel with its Nina Campbell curtains which, although recent additions, have a distinctly Jacobean appearance.
The Knowle settee, open fire and antiques all create an atmosphere in which to relax with morning coffee when planning the day ahead or to have a nightcap listening to music from the Bang & Olufsen sound system before retiring to bed.
A large unique Jacobean staircase, just one of the many reasons for Grade II star listing, leads off the hall to a galleried landing with a display of armour and a Grand Piano. All bedrooms are accessed from here.
In the spring and summer time the well stocked garden is a haven of tranquility with comfortable seats where guest can enjoy morning coffie, afternoon tea and an early evening drink choosen from our bar.
